Scripture Prayer

John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to the’ saying, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Precious Jesus, Light of the World, we thank You for coming into the world to bring your light, for dying for our sins, and for the great promise of the resurrection:  eternal life for all who believe in You.

We thank You that You keep Father Shaw Mudge in your light, that You guide him every step of the way as he pursues his ministry to the diocese in Belize.  Today we pray especially for the new course on Anglican history, as Father Shaw begins to present this subject to his students.

We also pray for the sale of the home in Wynantskill, for preparation for his trip to Belize next month, for the students who are to be ordained, and for Mother Julie and Lydia in all that they do for You.

To You be the glory, Jesus.  Amen.

Prayer Mail

Dear partners in prayer,

This is our public prayer mail for August 27

This week, it has been good to consolidate my two mission offices into the third one after quite some time.

This week's selective overview:

I am preparing for the course beginning on Saturday, and for preparations for the trip to Belize that begins in late September. I have also spent time giving a briefing to a new (non-SAMS) missionary who is planning to serve in a parish in Belize.

As of this time, there will be ordination related matters and Synod related matters. In addition, I have been asked to be the official SAMS representative at a clerical installation.

In addition there are other matters such as getting to know Belize better. People are glad to have me back. This is good.

I have enjoyed the parish visits this summer. Great congregations. More visits to come.

Prayer requests:

1) Continue to pray for the Mudges, settling in, parish visitations, the upcoming Belize trip, and the Anglican course.

2) Pray for the upcoming Albany mission conference presentation.

3) Pray for a speedy sale of our dwelling in the Albany area. One interested person has looked at it in the past week or so, but not that interested at the moment. Pray for the right person, God's person, and God's timing.

God bless you.
 In Christ,
Shaw+, and on behalf of Julie+ and Lydia.

Scripture Prayer

Psalm 138:9

The Lord will make good his purpose for me; O Lord, your love endures forever; do not abandon the works of your hands.

Father God, we come before You again in intercession for Father Shaw Mudge and his ministry.  We thank You for the promise that You will make good your purpose for Him.  Thank You for your ever enduring love and for your faithfulness in guiding Father Shaw as he listens for your direction and acts accordingly.

We pray that Father Shaw and Mother Julie and Lydia are safely moved into their new home.  We ask that their home in Wynantskill be sold quickly.  We pray for upcoming parish visitations, the trip to Belize in September, and the start of the course on Anglican history at the end of this week.  We also pray for the mission conference in Albany and the large part that Father Shaw is to play as keynote speaker.

To You be the glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Scripture Prayer

Romans 11:36

For from him and through him and to him are all things.  To him be the glory forever.  Amen.

All things come from You, Father God, and through You the faithful accomplish good works and offer them up to You for your glory.

We thank You for the mission work of Father Shaw Mudge that He offers to You for your glory.  We pray for continued blessings for Father Shaw and his students in Belize and especially for those to be ordained in September.

We pray for a safe and uneventful move of all  the Mudges’ earthly stuff to the new house in Manchester CT.  We pray for Mother Julie’s chaplain work at the local hospitals and for Lydia’s mission to Honduras.

For all the Mudges, we pray for peace, effectiveness, love, joy and creativity.

Amen.

Prayer Mail

Dear partners in prayer,

This is our public prayer mail for August 12.

This week's selective overview:

Dates have been tentatively confirmed for the first ordinations in Belize in several years, in late September, as well as for the pre-ordination retreat (I may be serving in the role of Spiritual Director for the retreat), pending the final documents from the candidates.

Work continues for the preparation of upcoming course materials.

Preparation continues for "move week", all next week.

I will continue to maintain a base of operations in the Diocese of Albany for some time to come. Therefore, Sunday visits to parishes in the Diocese of Albany continue after the move, and I have been asked to make a presentation at the upcoming mission conference in the Diocese of Albany.

Prayer requests:

1) Pray for the mission work in Belize, the translation of the online course work into Spanish for Belize and surrounding countries, and the on-going work of the Spanish version of the Book of Common Prayer for the Church in the Province of the West Indies.

2) Pray for my part in the ordination process, as the ordination date gets closer.

3) Pray for my course preparation work for the next on-line course that I plan to teach, beginning August 30th and lasting to mid-October: "What God has been doing in Anglicanism" (Anglican Church History/Liturgy).

4) Pray also for my upcoming mission conference presentation.

5) Pray for our transition to Manchester over the course of the next three weeks, and for Julie's transition to new responsibilities as staff hospital chaplain at two area hospitals. Pray for peace, effectiveness, love, joy, and creativity.

God bless you.

Scripture Prayer

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

God of hope, we thank You for the joy and peace that comes from trusting in You.  We thank You for the gift of your Holy Spirit that makes all things in your will possible and which brings so much hope.

Father God, we thank You for your Son Jesus Christ and the ultimate gift that He offers to us.

Father God, we thank You for the joy and peace which Father Shaw Mudge obtains as he believes in You and plugs into the power of the Holy Spirit as he does his mission work for the people of Belize.  Thank You for the hope that the Anglicans in Belize now have because of the ordination of new priests and other fruit of Father Shaw’s ministry.

We pray for continuing inspiration, hope, joy and peace for Father Shaw and his family as they proceed on the journey that You have willed for them.  We pray for the move to Manchester CT, for the continued affiliation with the Diocese of Albany, for the mission work in Belize, for the development of the course about Anglican church history and the preparations for the trip to Belize in late September.

We ask for peace, effectiveness, love, joy and creativity for Father Shaw and his whole family.

Amen.

Scripture Prayer

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
In Him my heart trusts and I am helped;
My heart exults,
And with my song I give thanks to Him.

Father God, we praise You for your strength.  We thank You for shielding us from the enemy.   Our hearts trust in You as we are helped in performing those deeds You have called us to do.  Our hearts exult and we give thanks to You.

Our hearts exult and we give thanks to You for every good work that Father Shaw Mudge is doing in Your Name.  Lord, we ask that you continue to help him with the on-line theological program and with all parts of his ministry to Belize.  Be with him in his work in the U.S. as well, and with his family.  Make smooth the path for the Mudges as they move into a new home.

We pray for the translation on the online course work into Spanish for Belize and other Latin American countries.  We pray for the on-going work of the Spanish version of the Book of Common Prayer for the Church in the Province of the West Indies.  We pray for the course preparation work for the class to begin August 30.  We pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance, a sense of humor, and flexibility, as well as peace, effectiveness, love, joy and creativity.

We ask all of this in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
