Scripture Prayer

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We thank You Lord, for all of your creation.  We thank You for every person that You have created.  We thank You that we are your workmanship and that you have made us in Christ Jesus for good works.  We thank You for all who have walked in the good works that you have prepared even before we were born.  And we especially thank You for the Mudges and all that they do for You.

We pray for Lydia as she returns from Honduras.  We hope that her trip was fruitful and satisfying both to her and to You.  Guide her into the future works that You have for her.

We rejoice at the good news that the sale of the Mudge home near Albany NY is in the works.  We pray that all goes well with the building inspection and the clearing of all checks.  Thank You for your provision, Lord.

And we continue to pray for Father Shaw as he gets ready for another trip to Belize.  May your Holy Spirit guide his every step on this journey: the agenda, the logistics, safe and timely travel, fruitfulness of the venture; and that every word spoken and every action taken be according to your will.

Dear Friends,

This is our public prayer mail for Tuesday January 27, 2015; Lectionary calendar: Lydia, Dorcas, and Phoebe.  

Lydia returns from Honduras on Saturday.  

I have been preparing for my trip to Belize as well as working on courses this week.   

Prayer requests:

1) For preparations for the on-the-ground mission trip to Belize, the agenda, the logistics, safe and timely travel, fruitfulness of the venture, what the Holy Spirit would have me say and do.

2) For the continuing everyday fruitful mission work with Belize.

3) For the completion of the Spanish Prayer Book in a timely manner.

4) For God's provision for all our needs both here and abroad.

5) For the sale of our dwelling in Wynantskill. We accepted a bid this week. Keep praying through the building inspection and until the check clears.

6) For Lydia, for the remainder of her time on the ground in Honduras this week, and for same and timely travel.

Living on the edge.

I hope your 2015 year began well. Ours has, with renewed interest in what we are doing, exciting blessings on the mission field.

We do not know what surprises and accomplishments will unfold over the course of 2015, yet at the same time, we look forward to what the Holy Spirit is calling us to do, as part of the adventure ahead.

Doing what I do in the mission field is like walking along the edge of a steep cliff sometimes, metaphorically speaking. I am living on the edge with the Examining Chaplaincy activities that I am engaged in, and all that that entails.

And sometimes I reflect: that without this ministry, nothing exists in its place. There is no back-up. I don’t dwell on that thought, though; rather, I keep forging head. But sometimes it strikes me a new way, that this ministry is a huge responsibility, and that I am a beacon of hope for the Anglican Church, here, for the Kriol, English, Spanish and Garifuna speaking folks in Belize. 

Sometimes, I feel like I am living on the edge of a stony cliff, looking down into mammoth cultural, demographic, and economic waves that crash on the shore below, and yet somehow, we are unaffected because our ministry is built upon the rock that is Jesus Christ.

The abiding presence of the Holy Spirit keeps the the Diocese of Belize moving forward through challenge after challenge. Life is not simple for the Diocese.

Looking forward to next month: I shall be returning to Belize in a few short weeks.

Please keep me in your prayers as I travel along the steep sheep paths on the cliffs that the Holy Spirit calls me to walk on. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall continue to follow him on the path that he has called me to take.

Dear Friends,

This is our public prayer mail for Tuesday January 20, 2015, Fabian of Rome.

Lydia continues immersed in ministry in Honduras.  

I have been preparing for my trip to Belize as well as working on courses this week. The time frame for the next trip has been set for most of the second half of February and arriving back in early March.  

Prayer requests:

1) For preparations for the on-the-ground mission trip to Belize. Prayers for fruitfulness on that venture.

2) For the continuing everyday fruitful mission work with Belize.

3) For the completion of the Spanish Prayer Book in a timely manner.

4) For God's provision for all our needs both here and abroad,

5) For the sale of our dwelling in Wynantskill. There were quite a few people looking at it this week, some with quite an interest.

6) For Lydia, for her time on the ground during the remainder of January.

Ephesians 3: 14-19

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, ¹⁵ from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, ¹⁶ that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, ¹⁷ so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, ¹⁸ may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we bow our knees before You as we lift up Father Shaw Mudge, Mother Julie Mudge and Lydia Mudge.  May they be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit; may Jesus Christ dwell in their hearts through faith; may they be rooted and grounded in love; may they have strength to comprehend with profound certainty the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge; and may they be filled with all the fullness of God.

Thank You for all the blessings that You have bestowed upon the Mudge family.  We pray for blessings for Lydia as she continues her time in Honduras.  And for Father Shaw as he gets ready for this trip to Belize in February, and for Mother Julie as she works for You as a hospital chaplain in Connecticut.

We pray for provision for the Mudge family and ask especially that their home in Wynantskill sell soon for a good price.  And we pray for the day to day mission work and the completion of the Spanish prayer book.

Lydia is immersed in ministry in Honduras.  

I have been preparing for my trip to Belize as well as working on courses this week. A new student started.

Prayer requests:

 

1) For God's timing of my visit to Belize in February, and for the preparations for that trip. I am waiting to hear back from the Diocesan Office in Belize.

2) For the day to day mission work in the meantime.

3) For the completion of the Spanish Prayer Book.

4) For God's provision for all our needs both here and abroad,

5) For the sale of our dwelling in Wynantskill. 

6) For Lydia, for her time on the ground over the course of January.

Romans 5:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Father God, please fill Father Saw Mudge with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of your Holy Spirit, he may abound in hope.

Thank You, Lord, for all the gifts that you have bestowed upon Father Shaw, especially joy, peace and hope.  Thank You for guiding him every step of the way in his ministries.  Continue to be with him, Lord, as he plans his next trip to Belize and does further curriculum work on the on-line courses that he develops and teaches.

We pray for joy, peace and hope for Lydia too, as she works with children in Honduras this month.  And with Mother Julie as well as she starts her eleventh year in priestly ministry.

Thank You for providing for the Mudges.  We continue to pray for the sale of their town house near Albany.

This is our public prayer mail for Tuesday January 6, 2015.

Have a blessed New Year! 

By the time some of you receive this, it may be Epiphany season. Have a blessed Epiphany season.

Lydia arrived safely in Honduras towards the end of last week. Ruth arrived safely in Chicago a few days before that. 

I have been preparing for my trip to Belize as well as drawing up the curriculum, lectures, and tests for several courses this week. For Belize, any course having to do with the lectionary calendar and the Prayer book in Belize is being designed according to the Church in the Province of the West Indies Prayer Book. Church History courses for Belize that cover the past few hundred years, emphasize Belizean and Caribbean Church history. 

Julie celebrated Holy Communion for her 10th anniversary as a priest on January 4th. It was a Holy Spirit moment. She was impressive.

Prayer requests:

 

1) For God's timing of my visit to Belize in February, and the preparations for that trip. I am waiting to hear back from the Diocesan Office in Belize.

2) For the day to day mission work in the meantime.

3) For the completion of the Spanish Prayer Book.

4) For God's provision for all our needs both here and abroad,

5) For the sale of our dwelling in Wynantskill. New real estate broker this week, and there has been some interest in the past week.

6) For Lydia, for her time on the ground over the next month or so, and her safe and timely return.

Numbers 6: 24-26

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

As we start this new calendar year, Lord, we pray this Aaronic blessing upon Father Shaw Mudge and his family. May You bless them and keep them; may You make your face shine upon them and be gracious to them; may You lift up your countenance upon them and give them peace.

We pray especially for Lydia as she travels to Honduras on January 3.  Bless her Lord and show her the way.  We pray for travel mercies for her and for peace in her heart as she begins this ministry.  Guide her Lord, inspire her Lord, equip her to do a mighty work for You.

And prayers for Father Shaw’s on-line seminary ministry in Belize.  Thank You Lord for the new student and thank You for being with Father Shaw and all his students as they learn how to minister in your name.  We pray for a wonderful year for all concerned.
