Colossians 1: 9-12
For
this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying
for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through
all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of
the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work,
growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according
to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and
giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in
the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
Father God, we continually ask You to fill Father Shaw with the
knowledge of your will. May your Holy
Spirit grant him all wisdom and understanding so that he may live a worthy life
and be pleasing to You in every way. May
Father Shaw’s work bear fruit for You while he and his students grow in
knowledge of You. May they be strengthened
with all power, having great endurance and patience. May they have joyful hearts as they share
your message of salvation and invite people into the kingdom of light.
Father God, we also ask for a wonderful conclusion to Father Shaw’s
latest trip to Belize and a safe journey home.
Many of us look forward to seeing him and Julie at the Diocesan
Convention. Bless us all, Lord. Amen.
