Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
Father God, as Father Shaw and Mother Julie Mudge spend this summer in reflection about their ministry, we pray that You are guiding them every step of the way. Let the plans that are forming in their hearts be only the plans that You put there. May your purpose prevail in their lives. We pray that this be a sweet time for the Mudges, as they reconnect with family and friends. May this be a time of rest and re-creation as they wait for instruction from You. We also pray for Lydia as she continues in her wilderness experience with others from Gordon College. May she be making new friends and gathering helpful insights to help her in her college journey. Keep her safe, Lord, and help Shaw and Julie to deal with any pangs of empty nest syndrome. We thank You Lord, that You are with Lydia and that You are with her parents in every step of their lives. Amen.

Prayer Mail
Dear Friends in Prayer,

This is our public prayer mail for this week.
Update, during this past week:
Lydia has been launched! She began her wilderness experience program yesterday.
Prayers, for this coming week:
1) For Lydia this week. Her pre-orientation wilderness program in the Adirondacks continues. We reconnect with her in Massachusetts about the 18th, for orientation.
2) For preparations for Julie and my travel and schedule over the next month or so, including visits with friends and relatives in Connecticut and Maine. Preparations for the subsequent missionary program in California.
3) Remaining Gordon college details to take care of, this week, as well as some things to do around the home.
4) Reuniting with more items which have arrived from South America.
Your prayers make a difference, and I pray for you daily.

Mudge Prayer
Prayer for Schools and Colleges (BCP, page 824)
O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges and universities, that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Eternal God, we ask that you especially bless Gordon College. Be with Lydia Mudge this week as she begins her association with this school in an Adirondack Wilderness Experience. Protect her, Lord, and let her make good friends. Lord, guide her into that study which will help her most to reach her full potential. Be with Father Shaw and Mother Julie as well, helping them to deal with an “empty nest”. Thank You Lord. Amen.

Prayer Mail
Dear Friends in Prayer,
Peace be with you.
This is our public prayer mail for this week.
Update, during this past week:
1) We visited Vermont and Connecticut this week, visiting friends and relatives, and retrieving more items that arrived from South America
2) We spent 2 days following up on the check lists, for Lydia for College. Getting Lydia launched is in about 4 phases, overall. The first phase begins with a wilderness program. Launch date for the program, about 4 days and counting.
Prayers, for this coming week:
1) For Lydia and college this week. Her pre-orientation wilderness program in the Adirondacks begins on Saturday, with a bus trip, from..... Massachusetts.
2) For preparations for Julie and my travel and schedule over the next month or so, visiting friends and relatives in several states, and getting Lydia settled in College. Then, in September we plan to begin our next missionary program (which is for about a month).
3) For Julie´s mom´s health, which took a sudden downward plunge this weekend, and then, had an equally fast rebound.
Your prayers make a difference, and I pray for you daily.

This is our public prayer mail for this week.
Update, during this past week:
1) We had an interesting time during the Colorado program this past week with Lydia. The program in California during September will be similar, but more in-depth, for Julie and myself.
2) One of my aunts died in Georgia during the early part of the week. That was sad.
3) One of our nieces was married on Sunday in Colorado. That was a joyous occasion. Our daughter Ruth joined us for the occasion. That was a joyous occasion, as well.
4) Our Peruvian apartment matters have finally been completed. Much rejoicing. You have been praying for two years for a pleasant parting of the ways with our landlady, and your prayers have been answered.
Prayers, for this coming week:
1) For the traveling we are doing this week to Vermont and Connecticut, for various reasons.
2) For Lydia and ourselves, as she continues to prepare for college. Her start date is effectively August 6 with a wilderness program.
3) My birthday is this week. I am getting used to the higher numbers.

Scripture Prayer
Acts 16: 6-10
They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been prevented by the Holy Spirit from speaking the message in the province of Asia. When they came to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to do this, so they passed through Mysia and went down to Troas. A vision appeared to Paul during the night. A Macedonian man was standing there urging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” After Paul saw the vision, we attempted immediately to go over to Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to proclaim the good news to them.
Father God, thank You for all that You do. Thank You for the great gift of your Son, Jesus Christ and thank You for your Holy Spirit. Thank You for your servants, Paul and Timothy, who were so brilliantly guided by your Holy Spirit to spread the message of Jesus in their journeys. Lord, we pray that your Holy Spirit, in a like manner, guides Father Shaw and Mother Julie in their mission work. Give them visions, Lord, and give them discernment, too.
We pray for all of the Mudges as they enjoy a little summer break before Lydia goes off to college. Bless them and help the pieces to fall into place. We pray that Lydia is able to take her driver’s test and that she enjoys the pre-college wilderness adventure in the Adirondacks.
Thank You, Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for all that You do for the Mudges. Amen.

Scripture Prayer
Psalm 43: 3-4 and 5b
Reveal your light and your faithfulness! They will lead me, they will escort me back to your holy hill, and to the place where you live. Then I will go to the altar of God, to the God who gives me ecstatic joy, so that I express my thanks to you, O God, my God with a harp. … Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.
We thank You, Lord, for this time of rest, recreation and reflection in the lives of Father Shaw and Mother Julie and Lydia Mudge. We pray for their travels in Colorado: the missionary conference that they are attending and the family wedding at the end of the week. We thank You for the faithfulness with which You have shown the Mudges every step along their journey. Continue, Lord, to shine your light upon them.
We pray that Lydia will be able to take and pass her driver’s test before leaving for college and that you protect her on the wilderness adventure in the Adirondacks which is a requirement for her before starting classes. Help her to be ready for her college studies and for the social aspects of college as well.
Let their be safe travel throughout this summer, Lord, and we pray that You will lead the Mudges into their next mission field. Speak to them Lord. May they have that ecstatic joy when they hear your voice. Thank You, God, for your saving intervention.
